dc.description | Tropical dry forests (TDFs) have been defined as a single biome occurring mostly in the lowlands
where there is a marked period of drought during the year. In the Neotropics, dry forests occur across
contrasting biogeographical regions that contain high beta diversity and endemism, but also strong
anthropogenic pressures that threaten their biodiversity and ecological integrity. In Colombia, TDFs
occur across six regions with contrasting soils, climate, and anthropogenic pressures, therefore being

dc.description.abstract | Los bosques secos tropicales (TDF) se han definido como un solo bioma que se encuentra principalmente en las tierras bajas donde hay un período marcado de sequía durante el año. En el Neotrópico, los bosques secos se encuentran en regiones biogeográficas contrastantes que contienen alta diversidad beta y endemismo, pero también fuertes
presiones antropogénicas que amenazan su biodiversidad e integridad ecológica. En Colombia, TDFs ocurren en seis regiones con suelos contrastantes, clima y presiones antropogénicas, por lo tanto, ideal para estudiar cómo estas variables se relacionan con la composición de especies de bosque seco, la etapa de sucesión y estado de conservación. | spa |
